The Sierra Club is proud of its role in the endorsement process and wholeheartedly extends our support for your campaign to help elect you to public office.

— Steve Welter, Political Committee, Sierra Club Indian Peaks Group

"Vote Joan Peck for Longmont mayor. Joan Peck will fight for Northwest Rail--we are paying for it and we should get it."  Joan Peck is a proven climate action champ, will work to protect the air we breathe and water we drink and will stand strong for social justice.

— Matt Jones, Boulder County Commissioner

“I gladly endorse Joan Peck for Longmont Mayor as we need real leaders to rise to the challenge we are facing involving climate change." The people of Longmont anticipated this disaster when they overwhelmingly voted to ban fracking in 2012. A real leader will fight to enforce Longmont’s fracking ban and will demonstrate regional leadership by standing against the fossil fuel industry. Joan Peck is that leader.”

— Joe Salazar, Climate Action Attorney

"Joan Peck receives my endorsement for Mayor because of her steady, continual focus on making the world a better place."  In 2012 Joan was actively engaged in the effort to keep fracking out of Longmont and while on council she continued work to keep residents safe from fracking.  Joan is also the person on council who continues to fight for improved mass transit.  She understands that mass transit is a better alternative than continuing to add lanes to the interstate. I also appreciate her steadfast dedication to climate and social justice.  One important role of the mayor is to serve on the board of our municipal power provider.  Joan understands that building a fracked gas plant when Rawhide closes ties us to fossil fuels for the next 40 years. Joan will be an excellent Mayor. — Karen Dike, activist

"I have known Joan for more than 35 years, since the mid 1980’s when we were colleagues at Niwot High School. Through the years I have watched her successfully take on a myriad of issues in our community including transportation, housing, environment and more. I have watched her mature into a reasoned and seasoned activist for our Longmont community. Her history and knowledge-base on past and current issues is extensive. As a result she has perspective that very few others could match. Perspective and history of what has been is vital for moving Longmont forward. She speaks well, is highly competent, and is succinct in her communication skills. Joan is fair minded, approachable, and personable. Joan Peck as Mayor would be a great benefit for our Longmont community with her strong spirit, her listening and reasoning skills, and her determination to do what is best for all concerned." — Valerie Kohlman

"I am happy to endorse City Council member at Large Joan Peck for Mayor for the city of Longmont.  I cannot think of anyone who is a stronger leader, embraces ethical decisions, and is an outstanding listener than Joan Peck.  For these reasons I wholeheartedly endorse Ms. Peck for the position of mayor for Longmont." —  Julie Dadone

"I have known Joan Peck since way before she ran for city council. She  is a reliable, trustworthy person. As mayor, she will do right by all  the people of Longmont. I believe that, as mayor, she will do right by all the people of Longmont." — Jim Kenworthy, Environmentalist

"I am happy to endorse Joan Peck for mayor of  Longmont. Joan and I have worked together for many years trying to  make our world a better place. In particular, Joan and I worked consistently and jointly to bring the best transit to the citizens of Longmont when I had the privilege of being RTD Director and  Joan on city council. I have no doubt that without Joan’s  persistent, determined work, the proposed Northwest FasTracks corridor would have been long forgotten instead of still being considered a viable option. Joan is a fierce, determined fighter for what is right and she will bring that fierceness and determination to her position as mayor. I strongly  urge the good people of Longmont to elect Joan as our next mayor." — Judy Lubow, Former RTD Director

"I am pleased to endorse Joan Peck for Mayor of Longmont. She is committed to the residents of Longmont. Joan is very knowledgeable on so many topics that concern Longmont residents and she is a thoughtful principled public servant. I have personally witnessed her involvement in the community and her service above self. We will be lucky to have Joan Peck serve as Mayor of Longmont." — Mitzi Nicoletti

"America is awash in politicians whose number one goal is to do favors for the rich and powerful. In contrast, Joan has made serious, long-time, and ongoing efforts to address Longmont's housing, transportation, and environmental challenges. This shows she is devoted to serving the needs of the 99% of us. Joan is the mayor Longmont needs.

— Stan Gelb, Activist and Organizer

"Joan became active in fighting fracking when Longmont voted to ban fracking in 2012."  She successfully led the petition signature campaign.  Her knowledge of the harmful effects of fracking on our health and our climate will be an asset.  One of the responsibilities of the mayor is to serve on the Platte River Power Authority Board.  That board is considering building a natural (fracked ) gas plant when they close the coal plant, subjecting us to the pollution and costs for the next 40 years.  Storage of renewable energy and improved reliance on a wider power grid will be a better solution. Joan is also a tireless fighter for improved transit and to hold RTD accountable for the taxes Longmont pays into the funds.

—Judith Blackburn, Longmont Climate Community

"Joan Peck has been working tirelessly to build coalitions with stakeholders and commissions to bring peak rail service to Longmont, to increase affordable housing and housing services for the unhoused, and to fight for clean air. " Joan stands for real issues that impact all of us …  today. Vote for Joan!
